Miss Kansas 2019 | Annika Wooton

This last summer we teamed up with a few other amazing wedding professionals and put on some style shoots (fake weddings) to gather content for the new Veil Events Bridal Magazine. Our friends at J. Lynn Bridal connected us to Annika Wooton (Miss Kansas 2019) as a model for the photoshoot. It was such an honor to have her be a part of our magazine!
“Annika represented Kansas at the 2020 Miss America Competition which was broadcast live on NBC from the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut on Thursday, December 19, 2019. She competed fiercely and was named a Top 15 Finalist, received a non-finalist talent award for her speed painting rendition of Chief Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and was presented with the Jean Bartel Social Impact Initiative Award (formerly Quality of Life) for her work as an arts advocate.” See more here.

On June 8 2019, Annika Wooton was crowned Miss Kansas 2019. Throughout her year-of-service, she will make over 400 appearances, many of them in Kansas schools making motivational presentations to students. Annika’s passion lies in the arts, as she advocates for her social impact initiative, “The Transformative Power of the Arts,” placing “art” in a different perspective. What Beauty advice do you have for brides on their wedding day?
I feel like waterproof mascara goes without saying! Though I haven’t had my own “big day” yet as a bride, I’ve definitely had a few “big days” on big stages that required some glitz and glam. Also, make sure you pack lip liner, lipstick, floss and tissues just in case of waterworks, Kansas wind, or another unexpected mishap.
“Remember, wedding day is your day and no matter what, take time to notice the little moments, the people who you are surrounded by, and the incredible love that you share with your partner – that’s the real beauty of this day.”
