Jaclyn Lawson | Olathe, Kansas
Veil Events Wedding Coordinator
Hello, I’m Jaclyn!
I live in Olathe, KS, with my husband Kevin and two beautiful daughters: Kaylee, 4, and Kinlee, 1. I love spending time with our family and all things KC sports. During the week, I’m a mortgage processor. (I basically coordinate the mortgage process.)
Weddings were always something I loved, from the couples’ first-look to the celebration on the dance floor. I’ve been working in the wedding industry since 2010. Before I joined Veil Events, I had my own wedding planning/coordination business.
It’s so satisfying to know that I helped someone make their day go smoothly and a little more magical. Please contact Veil Events if you’re looking for a Wedding Coordinator. We will love to help you!
Why is it important for a bride to hire a wedding coordinator?
The bride spends many months planning the perfect wedding and then doesn’t know who is going to execute it on the wedding day. Many brides think their family can help make her plans come true but they’re often busy with pictures or visiting with family, or worse, they miss all the important moments of their loved one’s big day. A wedding coordinator makes sure the bride and their family have the perfect, stress-free day!
How and when did you start in the wedding industry?
Weddings were always something I loved, from the look on the couple’s face to the celebration on the dance floor. In 2010 I moved to Kansas City and started working for a wedding planner as her assistant on the day of coordination. In 2013, I started my own wedding coordination business to help those brides who didn’t think they could afford to hire a wedding coordinator. I’ve coordinated over 20 weddings and it’s become a passion to help others have the best day of their lives.
Tell us about a time when you helped the bride on her wedding day.
One of my brides had a particular family member that made her anxious and stressed. This particular family member ended up in the bridal suite before the ceremony began and I could immediately tell my bride was upset. I politely asked that everyone except the bridal party leave the room. This family member stayed put. I had to ask two times before finally leaving the room. The bride was so apologetic that I had to do that but I reassured her that it was my job to keep her happy and comfortable.
What is your favorite part of wedding day?
The moment after the bride and groom walk down the aisle as a married couple. They’re so elated and relieved it’s over. I always sneak my couples off to a private area to have a moment just the two of them to get to enjoy the feeling of being married.
